Description
As I explained in Chapter 3.1, Pfalzwerke AG was prepared to reduce the losses due to collision or impact by making structural changes. Initially, spherical and helical shapes were considered as markings. However, the lug bundles were then favoured, as they are easier to attach and have larger dimensions. They ensure a better hold and are more visible to the birds. Gap formation due to partial loss of the markings should be avoided as far as possible from the outset, as this could lead to misdirection of flight operations.
